China’s Longest Swivel Road Bridge in Hefei Fully Rotated

In a remarkable feat of engineering, China's longest continuous swivel road bridge over a railway has successfully completed its final rotation in Hefei City, located in east China's Anhui Province, early Saturday morning.

The impressive 554-meter-long, 60,000-ton bridge features four continuous beams spanning the railroad below. By the end of September, three of these massive beams had already been rotated into place, with the final beam achieving rotation in the early hours of the weekend.

This multi-part bridge is a crucial component of a cross-provincial highway connecting Chuzhou City in Anhui with Zhoukou City in central China's Henan Province. The successful rotation of the last bridge beam marks a significant milestone, bringing the highway one step closer to becoming fully operational.

Once completed, the highway is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between Hefei and major cities in eastern and central China, including Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Zhengzhou. This improved infrastructure will play a vital role in accelerating Hefei's integration into the Yangtze River Delta integrated development zone, fostering economic growth and regional cooperation.
