Automechanika Shanghai 2025 opened this week with over 7,000 exhibitors from around the world, underlining China’s push into new-energy technologies. The NEV section, 50% larger than last year, highlights advancements in electrification, smart mobility and green transportation.
Global innovators converge on China’s NEV boom
More than 2,000 Chinese and overseas companies are on display, showcasing innovations in electric-drive systems, high-performance components, hydrogen fuel cells, charging and battery-swap solutions, as well as cutting-edge materials. The scale and specialization of the supply chain point to a maturing, globally competitive industry.
Major auto suppliers from Japan, Germany and other traditional hubs are increasing their presence in the Chinese mainland as the market shifts toward electrification. Wada Mitsuharu, general manager of Aisin Shanghai Trading Co. Ltd., told CGTN that China remains one of the company’s top markets.
"Building on our original equipment-level quality, we will continue strengthening our EV-related businesses," said Wada. "We operate certified service centers across all provinces in the Chinese mainland and remain committed to providing reliable, high-quality services to customers."
As the world watches, China’s NEV sector is poised to drive global growth, powered by collaboration, innovation and a rapidly evolving ecosystem.
