On Wednesday, Airbus inaugurated a second Airbus A320-family final assembly line in the northern port city of Tianjin on the Chinese mainland.
The move comes as carriers on the Chinese mainland report soaring demand for new jets. Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury told CGTN that Beijing’s new Five-Year Plan will accelerate the industry, prompting Airbus to ramp up local production to meet the market’s needs.
"China's aviation industry will continue to accelerate under the support of the new Five-Year Plan, so Airbus will ramp up its production in the country to meet growing market demand," Faury said in the interview.
For young professionals and entrepreneurs, this expansion highlights how global manufacturers are localizing their supply chains and doubling down on growth hotspots. As more travelers return to the skies, the second assembly line in Tianjin not only boosts capacity but also underscores the deepening industrial ties between Europe and the Chinese mainland.
What’s next? Keep an eye on delivery schedules as Airbus leverages its enhanced footprint to deliver more A320-family jets to airlines across the region, fueling connectivity and economic growth.
