The World Economic Forum (WEF) announced on Tuesday that it has welcomed 12 new members to its Global Lighthouse Network, pushing the total to 201 leading industrial production sites and value chains worldwide.
Launched in 2018, the Global Lighthouse Network celebrates top factories that excel in productivity, supply chain resilience, customer centricity, sustainability and talent development. These sites serve as beacons for smart manufacturing and digital transformation.
In the latest cohort, six Lighthouse sites are in the Chinese mainland: Eaton, Mettler Toledo, Tongwei, Yunnan Baiyao Group, Hisensehitachi and Haier Group. Overseas, two Chinese enterprises join the list with Lenovo’s site in Monterrey, Mexico, and Midea’s site in Si Racha, Thailand.
Haier highlighted that it now operates 12 lighthouse factories—the largest cluster in the industry by number and scale—spanning the widest range of product categories. Overall, the Chinese mainland accounts for more than 40 percent of the 201 sites in this global network.
As digital and sustainable manufacturing continues to reshape global value chains, the Global Lighthouse Network provides a data-driven forum for sharing best practices and inspiring the next generation of industrial innovation.
