Global Poll Sees 81.9% Confidence in China’s Economy

What started as a casual scroll became a clear signal: global trust in China’s economic resilience is on the rise. A CGTN survey of 47,000 respondents across 46 countries and regions shows confidence jumping from 74.7% in 2023 to 81.9% in 2025.

Steady Rise in Confidence

Over three years, respondents praised China’s stable foundation, industrial system and talent pool. Approval of its role in stabilizing global supply chains climbed from 78.5% in 2023 to 84.7% in 2025, highlighting Beijing’s importance in a complex world.

Youth and Regional Optimism

Young respondents (18–44) showed the strongest support, with over 90% approving of China’s performance. Regionally, Africa (95.6%), South America (92.9%) and Asia (85.6%) led in positive views, underlining the appeal of China’s market strength across the Global South.

Opportunities and Trade Benefits

Nearly 80% of participants see China as an open, competitive market offering major opportunities for foreign partners. Even amid global tariff tensions, 78% said their countries benefit from trade with China, with young voices driving approval above 81%.

Looking Ahead

As the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030) approaches, the CPC Central Committee plans to deepen reforms, boost innovation and expand high-standard opening-up. Survey respondents ranked manufacturing growth, innovation-driven development and sustainable, open trade as top pillars of China’s future strategy.

With global confidence at a record high, China’s economic story this decade is one of resilience, large-scale opportunity and evolving partnerships.
