China Urges Stronger SCO Economic & Trade Ties

At the opening of the SCO business forum in Beijing, Gao Yunlong – the chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and vice-chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference – called on SCO members to deepen economic and trade cooperation. Gao emphasized that economic and trade cooperation serves as a powerful engine driving dynamic development, highlighting the need for aligned regional strategies and more efficient supply chains.

China is ready to work with other parties to enhance the quality and level of SCO partnerships, Gao added. By stabilizing industrial and supply chains across the region, members can unlock new opportunities for entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses alike.

Nearly 400 participants from government institutions and the business community, both at home and abroad, gathered at the forum – hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – to explore joint initiatives. As the global economy navigates complex challenges, a more integrated SCO market could offer resilience, growth, and a shared path to lasting prosperity.

Gao stressed that these efforts will not only boost trade and investment but also foster an SCO community with a shared future, contributing to global peace and sustainable development.
