Multinationals Turn to China for Global Innovation Lessons

At the Summer Davos 2025 forum, Joe Ngai, chairman of McKinsey China, told CGTN’s Michael Wang that multinationals are rewriting their global playbooks by learning from the Chinese mainland’s competitive market.

“In the past, executives looked West,” Ngai said. “Nowadays, more and more CEOs are coming to the Chinese mainland, striving to understand its adaptability and success.”

These leaders aim to take insights from China’s fast-evolving sectors—where innovation meets scale—and implement them in operations worldwide. The shift highlights the Chinese mainland’s rising role as a dynamic testbed for next-generation ideas.

As companies bring these lessons home, the global business landscape could see new strategies in product design, digital transformation, and agile supply chains. East-meets-West collaboration is rapidly shaping tomorrow’s markets.
