Wang Yi to Steer FOCAC Follow-up & Launch 4th China-Africa Trade Expo

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is set to attend two key events in Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan in the Chinese mainland. From June 10 to 12, he will join the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and officiate the opening ceremony of the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.

The FOCAC follow-up meeting brings together high-level coordinators tasked with tracking progress on agreements made during the latest forum sessions. By aligning strategies and sharing insights, participants aim to turn diplomatic commitments into concrete outcomes across sectors such as trade, investment and cultural exchange.

The Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Changsha will showcase a wide range of business and cultural initiatives designed to deepen economic ties. Exhibitors from both sides will present opportunities in areas from agriculture to technology, reflecting the evolving dynamics of this intercontinental partnership.

For young global citizens, entrepreneurs and thought leaders, Wang Yi's attendance underscores the importance of multilateral dialogue in driving sustainable development and fostering real-world impact. As the world watches Changsha’s gatherings unfold, the buzz around China-Africa collaboration illustrates how focused follow-up and execution can shape new growth pathways.
