Chongqing, a dynamic metropolis in the southwestern Chinese mainland, recently hosted the 7th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade. Over three days, more than 1,300 companies and institutions from 39 countries and regions converged to explore new partnerships.

From cutting-edge robotics to digital service platforms, exhibitors unveiled deals worth over 200 billion yuan (US$27.8 billion). Advanced manufacturing and modern services emerged as headline sectors, reflecting a strategic push to modernize the region's industrial landscape.

International participants said the fair connected them to new markets and ideas, highlighting its role in bridging East and West cultures.

Analysts view the western region of the Chinese mainland as an up-and-coming player in global supply chains, driven by infrastructure upgrades and supportive policies. As the digital economy blooms, this region is positioning itself as a launchpad for innovation and sustainable growth.
