The 5th China International Consumer Products Expo marked a milestone with the debut of its first Sanya-based pavilion at the Sanya International Yacht Center on the 15th. Named "A Thousand Yachts, Setting Sail for the Future," the pavilion covers an impressive 166,800 square meters with nearly 90% of the area dedicated to water-based displays.
Attended by 62 companies from over 20 countries and regions, the Sanya International Yacht Exhibition showcased approximately 150 yachts from both domestic and international manufacturers. Visitors enjoyed a vibrant mix of static boat displays, yacht culture sections, lifestyle exhibits, and even yacht-themed wedding showcases. Innovative demonstrations like "yacht plus wedding photography" and "yacht plus deep-sea diving" added an interactive twist to the festivities.
A unique highlight was the United Kingdom-curated yacht cultural pavilion, which blended rich maritime traditions and cutting-edge boat-building technology. Interactive installations featured prestigious races such as the Volvo Ocean Race and the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, offering visitors an immersive dive into British marine culture.
Market experts highlighted the burgeoning Chinese yacht market. Li Gang, Director of the Market Operation and Consumer Promotion Department at the Ministry of Commerce, emphasized the government's commitment to fostering yacht consumption through initiatives aimed at developing public yacht berths, supply stations, and innovative "Yacht+" products. Party Secretary Wang Qiyang also expressed strong support for transforming Sanya, already home to over 1,400 registered yachts and known as the "City of a Thousand Yachts," into a comprehensive hub covering research, design, production, exhibition, sales, maintenance, and consumer services.
The expo concluded with the launch of the "Sanya Yacht Industry Initiative," a collaborative call to global yacht enterprises, industry associations, research institutions, and government bodies. This initiative aims to foster an open, innovative, and sustainable ecosystem for the yacht industry, injecting fresh momentum into the global marine economy.
