Xiong’an: City of the Future Fuels Robotics and Tech Innovation

The vibrant Xiong'an New Area in north China's Hebei Province is fast emerging as a futuristic hub that blends cutting-edge technology with visionary urban planning. Supported by forward-thinking policies and a dynamic entrepreneurial spirit, the region is attracting high-tech companies eager to shape tomorrow.

At the forefront is Mech-Mind Robotics, a renowned unicorn company celebrated for its innovative robotic arm that responds to voice commands and precisely handles intricate workpieces. By equipping traditional robotic arms with "eyes" and "brains," the enterprise now exports its products to over 50 countries and regions.

Last year, Mech-Mind Robotics relocated its headquarters from Beijing to the Xiong'an New Area. "Our company has evolved from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 10, and we believe Xiong'an is a good place for us to advance from 10 to 100, or even 10,000," remarked Zhang Dan, head of the president's office, underscoring the region's immense potential.

The Xiong'an New Area has also given rise to the Zhongguancun Science Park, a hub that has attracted more than 140 companies. Drawing inspiration from Beijing's renowned tech ecosystem, this science park offers an ideal environment for startups and established enterprises to innovate and collaborate.

Among the new ventures is Xiong'an Xingyuan Technology Co., Ltd., a startup making strides with advanced developments in the metaverse, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. CEO Gong Wentong highlighted the seamless business setup process and the networking events that have connected emerging talents with local industry leaders, paving the way for collaborative projects such as using VR to create immersive travel experiences for senior citizens.

Local authorities have bolstered this innovative ecosystem through incentive programs, including competitions that provide housing subsidies, workspace allowances, and other rewards. Leaders like Wang Ling, deputy general manager of Zhijue Intelligent, have experienced firsthand how these policies help transform challenges into opportunities, encouraging not only business growth but also community development.

Looking ahead, Liu Jingjing, general manager of the science park, expressed optimism about expanding the industrial cluster in AI and robotics. With more companies expected to join the dynamic landscape, Xiong'an is steadily proving to be a powerful model where policy and entrepreneurial energy converge to shape a sustainable, tech-driven future.
