UNDP Praises China’s Global Green Energy Leadership

At Boao Forum 2025, UNDP resident representative Beate Trankmann shared inspiring insights into China's pioneering role in green energy. Speaking to CGTN’s Aaron Liu, Trankmann revealed that China is already the world leader in renewable energy, accounting for nearly a third of global solar and wind power installed capacity.

While recognizing the nation’s remarkable achievements, she also pointed out opportunities for further growth. Enhancing power grid infrastructure and refining market regulation are seen as key steps to boost efficiency and innovation in the renewable sector.

This dynamic progress not only sets a new benchmark in sustainable energy but also resonates with a global audience—from young digital enthusiasts and tech innovators to thought leaders and changemakers. China's journey in green energy is carving out new pathways for a sustainable future and serves as an inspiring model for countries aiming to embrace clean technology in the digital age.
