Pakistani Business Leaders Urge Swift CPEC Implementation to Boost Economy

In a pivotal move to accelerate Pakistan's economic growth, a leading business group has emphasized the urgent and timely execution of projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The first meeting of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) convened in Islamabad on Monday, bringing together key trade and business figures, as reported by The CPEC Daily.

Saud Faisal Malik, CEO of The Daily CPEC and convener of the FPCCI committee, highlighted that the successful implementation of CPEC projects goes beyond infrastructure and energy. \"CPEC is a crucial driver of job creation and a gateway to unlocking new economic opportunities,\" Malik stated.

He further emphasized the group's commitment to attracting more investments into Pakistan, noting that CPEC offers unparalleled opportunities in sectors such as education, technology, and industrial development. \"Our strategy includes formulating recommendations for incentivizing investments, including tax incentives, streamlined regulatory processes, and investment-friendly policies,\" Malik added.

The CPEC, launched in 2013 as a cornerstone of China's Belt and Road Initiative, aims to enhance connectivity between China and Pakistan. As of December 2024, Chinese investment in CPEC has reached a substantial $25.4 billion.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong highlighted the tangible benefits of CPEC, mentioning that the initiative has created 236,000 jobs, constructed 510 kilometers of highways, and generated 8,000 megawatts of power.

With these developments, Pakistan looks forward to leveraging CPEC to drive its economic prosperity and industrial growth in the years to come.
