China is set to witness an unprecedented surge in domestic travel during the 2025 Spring Festival travel rush, with projections indicating around nine billion inter-regional movements. This marks a seven percent increase compared to the previous year, showcasing a robust rebound in travel activities across the nation.

Ice Tourism: Northern Cities Welcome Tourism Boom

Northern cities such as Harbin, Changchun, and Urumqi have emerged as hotspots for ice and snow tourism. The rising popularity of ice and snow sports in China has attracted a multitude of tourists eager to admire intricate ice sculptures and partake in skiing and other winter activities. According to data from a Chinese travel platform, travel bookings for Harbin, located in northeast China's Heilongjiang province, have surged by 32 percent year on year, reflecting a strong interest in the region's unique winter offerings.
