China Bans 10 US Companies, Including Lockheed Martin, for Taiwan Arms Sales

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Thursday the addition of 10 U.S. companies to its unreliable entities list. This move targets companies involved in selling arms to the Taiwan region.

Among the sanctioned entities are Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, and Lockheed Martin Missile System Integration Lab. These companies are now prohibited from engaging in import or export activities related to China and barred from making new investments within the country.

Additionally, senior executives from these companies face travel bans, with their work permits and residency statuses revoked. Any future visa or residency applications submitted by these individuals will not be approved, according to the MOC.

The MOC highlighted that these companies have continued arms sales to the Taiwan region and collaborated on military technologies in recent years, actions that go against China's strong opposition. The ministry emphasized that these activities undermine China's sovereignty, violate the one-China principle, and threaten peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

Despite these restrictions, the MOC stated that China's unreliable entity provisions are limited to foreign entities that pose a threat to national security. The ministry reaffirmed China's commitment to welcoming foreign companies that abide by the law, ensuring a stable, fair, and predictable business environment for lawful investments and expansions.
