China has taken a significant step to welcome more international travelers by updating its visa-free transit policy. Effective immediately, eligible foreign visitors can now stay in China for up to 240 hours (10 days), a notable increase from the previous 72 to 144-hour window.
This policy change was announced by the National Immigration Administration (NIA) on its official website and is designed to attract a broader spectrum of tourists and business travelers. Travelers from 54 countries, including major economies like Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, can benefit from this extended stay when transiting through China to a third country or region.
With access to any of the 60 open ports across 24 provincial-level regions, visitors can now enjoy a more flexible and extended experience without the need for a visa, provided their total stay does not exceed 240 hours within the designated areas. This enhancement not only simplifies the transit process but also opens up more opportunities for cultural exchange, business meetings, and tourism exploration.
