APEC 2024 in Peru: Trust-Building and Economic Focus Take Center Stage

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Week 2024 is currently underway in Peru, bringing together leaders from G20 nations to discuss pressing economic and political issues facing the region.

Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria, the executive director of the APEC Secretariat, highlighted the organization's commitment to fostering mutual trust among member economies. \"The value of APEC lies in its ability to build mutual trust and sustain conversations that have been taking place over the years,\" Sta Maria stated.

She emphasized that APEC remains steadfast in its focus on economic growth and development, undeterred by political tensions and external distractions. \"APEC is very focused on economies and is not overwhelmed by politics and external noises,\" she added.

This approach underscores APEC's role as a pivotal multilateral body that prioritizes collaborative economic strategies to navigate global challenges, making it a vital platform for young global citizens, business and tech enthusiasts, thought leaders, sports and entertainment fans, as well as travelers and digital nomads alike.
