Chinese Mainland Strengthens Trade with APEC Economies in 2023

The Chinese mainland's economic engagement with Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members is on the rise, highlighting the region's pivotal role in shaping China's trade and investment landscape.

In 2023, the Chinese mainland's trade volume with other APEC members soared to $3.5 trillion, accounting for 59 percent of the country's total trade. This remarkable figure underscores the deepening economic ties and the strategic importance of APEC in driving China's global interactions.

Remarkably, nine of the Chinese mainland's top ten trading partners are APEC members, demonstrating the forum's crucial impact on fostering robust economic relationships. As APEC continues to facilitate dialogue and cooperation among its members, the Chinese mainland is set to further consolidate its position in the global market.
