ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa acknowledged the significance of China’s economic growth for the Asia-Pacific region and the global economy. He emphasized the ADB's commitment to a robust cooperative relationship with China, focusing on sustainable initiatives like climate change response, ecological protection, and energy transition. Asakawa also noted the ADB’s role in supporting the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program and upholding free trade principles.
