7th China International Import Expo: A New Era for Global Trade

The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is set to take place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, 2024. As a premier global economic and trade event, the CIIE serves as a pivotal platform for collaboration among businesses, industries, and nations worldwide, highlighting China's unwavering commitment to trade liberalization and an open economy.

In an era marked by rising de-globalization and trade protectionism, the CIIE stands as a beacon of openness. China strongly opposes trade barriers and has implemented robust measures to uphold trade liberalization, maintaining high standards in its opening-up policies. This approach has been fundamental to China's economic success and its interconnected growth with the global economy.

Since its inception in 2018, the CIIE has grown into a significant international event, attracting participation from exhibitors around the world. The upcoming 7th edition promises to surpass previous iterations with participation from 152 countries and regions, including guest countries of honor such as France, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, and Uzbekistan. Additionally, the event will host 39 government trade missions and four industry trade missions, comprising 780 trade sub-missions.

With a focus on fostering international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchange, and open collaboration, the CIIE aims to strengthen global economic ties. Past expos have showcased over 350,000 products and facilitated transactions exceeding $420 billion, demonstrating the expo's significant impact on global trade.

This year's CIIE will emphasize new quality productive forces, featuring innovative products, technologies, and services. A dedicated section for new materials will highlight advancements in high-end manufacturing, while the automotive sector will showcase emerging industries like autonomous driving and new energy storage vehicles. These initiatives reflect China's strategic focus on high-quality and coordinated economic development.

Ultimately, the 7th CIIE aims to be a vital platform for international trade and economic collaboration, contributing to global prosperity and development through open and mutually beneficial partnerships.
