The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is set to take place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, promising to be a landmark event for global trade and collaboration.
Assistant Minister of Commerce Tang Wenhong highlighted during a press conference that the CIIE serves as a pivotal platform to promote high-level opening up. \"The expo showcases China's major opening-up measures and confidence, sharing new development opportunities with other countries and enhancing global economic governance,\" Tang emphasized.
This edition of the CIIE has attracted participants from 152 countries, regions, and international organizations. A record-breaking 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders are expected to attend, underscoring the expo's significance in the global business landscape.
Integral to the CIIE is the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, which will feature a main forum along with 19 specialized sub-forums. This structure facilitates in-depth discussions on various economic and trade topics, fostering meaningful connections among participants.
Since its inception in 2018, the CIIE has emerged as a crucial platform for highlighting China's new development paradigm and its commitment to high-level opening up. Over the previous six editions, the expo has introduced nearly 2,500 new products, technologies, and services, with an intended turnover exceeding $420 billion.
Additionally, more than 1,130 foreign-funded enterprises and investment promotion agencies have engaged in cooperation opportunities across different regions through the CIIE. This has led to numerous exhibitors establishing new stores, factories, and R&D centers within China, further strengthening international business ties.
