The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is set to take place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, bringing together a global community of businesses and innovators. Announced by China's Ministry of Commerce, this year's event spans over 420,000 square meters and welcomes participants from 152 countries and various international organizations.
With 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders in attendance, the expo promises to be a hub of cutting-edge products, technologies, and services. A highlight of the event is the debut of a new materials zone, showcasing the latest advancements that are shaping the future of various industries.
Running concurrently with the CIIE, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum will feature a main forum and 19 thematic sub-forums. These discussions are expected to delve deep into global economic trends and policy coordination, providing valuable insights for attendees.
Over the first six editions of the CIIE, nearly 2,500 new products, technologies, and services were introduced, contributing to a cumulative transaction value exceeding $420 billion. Tang Wenhong, assistant minister of commerce, highlighted that the expo has led to foreign companies establishing new stores, factories, and research and development centers in China.
This year's expo also emphasizes inclusivity by featuring exhibitors from 37 least-developed countries, with over 120 complimentary booths provided to support their participation. This initiative aims to foster global collaboration and ensure diverse representation at the event.
