BRICS Expansion Reinforces Its Influence in Global Economy

BRICS, originally composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, is now expanding its membership to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. This expansion solidifies BRICSโ€™ position as a significant multilateral force in the global economy.

Together, the BRICS nations represent nearly half of the world's population and cover more than a third of the planet's land area. With a combined GDP of $28.3 trillion, BRICS countries contribute 27 percent to the global economy and handle $10.4 trillion in trade, accounting for 21.5 percent of worldwide exports and imports.

This growing bloc is increasingly influential in shaping the future of global trade and economic policies. As BRICS continues to expand, its role in fostering international cooperation and driving economic growth becomes even more pivotal.
