Shaanxi and Turkmenistan Launch Luban Workshop to Boost Educational Ties

In a significant step towards strengthening educational collaboration, northwest China's Shaanxi Province and Turkmenistan signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Friday in Xi'an City. This agreement marks the establishment of Shaanxi's first Luban Workshop in Central Asia.

The Luban Workshop aims to foster deep cooperation in the education sector, cultivating highly skilled professionals in fields such as geological resource exploration, information systems, and technology. This initiative is set to inject new vitality into the local economy and promote social development in the region.

Under the MOU, institutions including Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University of Turkmenistan, Xi'an Shiyou University, Hebei Petroleum University of Technology, China Education Association for International Exchange, and China National Petroleum Corporation will collaborate to build the Luban Workshop. This workshop will offer comprehensive education covering master's, undergraduate, and vocational training.

The project aligns with the achievements of the China-Central Asia Summit and the Belt and Road Initiative, aiming to enhance educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Central Asian countries. Activities will include mutual visits of teachers and students, scientific research collaborations, and information exchange, creating a robust platform for ongoing communication and partnership.

Shaanxi has now entered the substantive construction phase of the first Luban Workshop in Central Asia, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of China. The initiative is dedicated to developing skilled talents who are well-versed in Chinese techniques and familiar with Chinese products, furthering the goal of building a closer community of shared future between China and Turkmenistan.
