In a significant move to strengthen bilateral ties, Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Wednesday encouraged Saudi companies to deepen their involvement in the Chinese market and invest with greater confidence.
Premier Li addressed representatives from the Saudi business community, including major entities such as the Saudi Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabian Oil Company, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, ACWA Power, and Ajlan & Bros Holding Group. The meeting was also attended by Saudi Minister of Commerce Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, and officials from the China-GCC joint investment commission.
Highlighting the robust economic and trade cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia, Li emphasized the favorable conditions available for further deepening partnerships. He urged entrepreneurs from both nations to seize the opportunities and play a more significant role in their collaborative endeavors.
The Premier specifically called on Saudi companies to expand their footprint in traditional sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, infrastructure, and trade. Additionally, he advocated for enhanced cooperation in emerging fields like the digital and green economies, positioning these industries as pivotal for future growth.
Beyond economic ties, Li encouraged Saudi businesses to act as bridges fostering friendship and mutual understanding between China and Saudi Arabia. He expressed his commitment to elevating the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to new heights.
Reaffirming China's dedication to creating a top-tier business environment, Premier Li assured that the country remains market-driven, law-based, and internationally oriented. He announced plans to further relax market access, eliminate restrictions on foreign investment in the manufacturing sector, and accelerate the opening of service sectors such as telecommunications.
These measures are aimed at providing robust support for foreign enterprises, enabling them to establish a stronger presence in China and achieve sustained success within the Chinese market.
