The Chinese mainland experienced a modest increase in its June Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key measure of inflation, which rose by 0.2% compared to the same month last year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, climbed by 0.6%, remaining unchanged from May's figures. On a monthly basis, the CPI decreased by 0.2% in June, slightly more than the 0.1% drop observed in May, influenced by seasonal factors.
In addition to the CPI data, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the Chinese mainland showed a narrowed decline in June, suggesting a slight easing in producer cost pressures. These indicators point to a controlled inflation environment, providing stability for consumers and businesses alike.
