Emerging Markets Shape New Global Economic Landscape at St. Petersburg Forum

This year's St. Petersburg International Economic Forum highlighted the rising influence of emerging markets in driving the global economy. A key focus was the burgeoning cooperation between China and Russia, particularly in areas such as business collaboration along the Northern Sea Route and the development of urban and agricultural sectors in the Russian Far East.

Alexey Chekunkov, Russian Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, discussed with CGTN's Aaron Liu how this partnership is poised to bring significant transformation to both regional and global economies. The collaboration aims to enhance trade routes, boost economic growth, and foster sustainable development in strategically important regions.

Beyond China-Russia ties, the forum explored the scale and potential of economic and trade cooperation among emerging markets. Ben Joubert, Director of the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, and Hala Helmy Elsaid, Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development, shared insights on the increasing trade and investment flows within these markets, highlighting the opportunities for multifaceted collaboration.

\"As emerging markets continue to gain momentum, the partnerships formed here will play a critical role in shaping economic dynamics worldwide,\" remarked Hala Helmy Elsaid.
