China’s Premier Li Qiang met with a delegation from the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) led by Chair Sherard Cowper-Coles on Wednesday, reaffirming China’s commitment to expanding market access and strengthening service guarantees for foreign investment.
Celebrating CBBC’s 70th anniversary, Li praised the organization for its pivotal role in fostering China-UK ties and facilitating bilateral trade. He emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in sectors such as finance, new energy, biomedicine, and the digital economy, aligning with the Belt and Road Initiative framework.
“We welcome companies from the UK and other countries to continue to invest in China,” Li stated, highlighting China’s dedication to maintaining an open and favorable business environment.
Sherard Cowper-Coles expressed support for China’s reforms and high-quality development, noting CBBC’s ongoing efforts to bridge UK-China relations and enhance bilateral cooperation.
