The 26th Cross-Straits Fair for Economy and Trade kicked off on Thursday in Fuzhou, southeast China's Fujian Province. This four-day event is designed to deepen integrated development across the Taiwan Straits.
With the participation of over 50 industrial and commercial organizations and more than 1,000 compatriots and businessmen from Taiwan region, the fair underscores the robust economic rebound of the Chinese mainland. Song Tao, head of both the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, highlighted the mainland's innovative vitality and promising economic prospects during the opening ceremony.
\"The mainland is fully capable of providing strengthened impetus for the promotion of cross-Straits economic cooperation, and of opening broader space for development,\" Song Tao stated. He emphasized that the Chinese mainland will continue to enhance cross-Straits exchanges and cooperation across various fields, sharing the opportunities and rewards of Chinese modernization with Taiwan compatriots and enterprises.
Supporting Fujian Province in building the cross-Straits integrated development demonstration zone, Song Tao encouraged Taiwan compatriots, especially young people, to seize the opportunity to study, live, work, and start businesses in Fujian.
Having evolved over 30 years, the Cross-Straits Fair has become a prominent business event, attracting over 10,000 enterprises from Taiwan and approximately 30,000 businessmen from the region. The fair plays a crucial role in exploring new avenues for integrated development and further promoting economic cooperation across the Taiwan Straits.
