A recent survey conducted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, encompassing over 600 foreign-funded companies, indicates a heightened confidence in the prospects of the Chinese mainland market.
More than 70 percent of the surveyed companies expressed optimism regarding the development prospects of the Chinese mainland over the next five years, marking an increase of approximately 3.8 percentage points compared to the previous quarter.
Additionally, over half of these enterprises believe that the Chinese mainland has become more attractive as a market, up by 2.9 percentage points from the last quarter.
Regarding profitability, more than half of the companies anticipate that investing in the Chinese mainland will lead to increased profits within the next five years. Notably, 60 percent of these optimistic companies are based in Europe.
Zhao Ping, spokesperson for the council, highlighted that the Chinese mainland continues to hold significant comprehensive advantages in attracting foreign investment. He cited favorable policies, a conducive investment environment, and China's high-standard opening-up initiatives as key factors contributing to this confidence.
