Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and global economic challenges, the Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Saadia Zahidi, remains optimistic about the prospects of emerging markets.
Speaking exclusively with CGTN during a special meeting on \"global collaboration, growth, and energy for development\" in Riyadh, Zahidi emphasized the key factors driving this positive outlook.
\"The cause for optimism comes from, one, South-South Cooperation,\" she stated. She cited examples such as the growing trade between the Chinese mainland and Africa, as well as increased economic interactions among Southeast Asian countries.
Additionally, Zahidi pointed out that many countries are seizing opportunities in the current environment where traditional economic rulebooks are evolving. \"There is a chance to create new markets and attractive investment opportunities,\" she added, highlighting the dynamic nature of emerging economies.
This optimistic perspective underscores the potential for sustained growth and investment in regions that are actively collaborating and innovating in today's interconnected world.
