The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), a key national agency for foreign trade and investment, has formally requested the United States to cease its Section 301 investigation targeting China's maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding industries. CCPIT emphasized the need to return to a rules-based multilateral trading system.
In a recent statement, CCPIT labeled the U.S. Section 301 investigation as both unreasonable and unfounded. The agency highlighted that there is no direct link between the downturn in the U.S. shipbuilding sector and Chinese laws, policies, or business practices.
Championing market development, Chinese maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding companies have been at the forefront of technological innovation and global market competition. CCPIT noted their significant role in enhancing global trade and ensuring the stability and security of the worldwide supply chain.
