The 135th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, kicked off this Monday in Guangzhou, southern China's Guangdong Province. This year's spring edition marks a new milestone with an expansive exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters—the largest ever held. An impressive 28,600 companies are participating in the export section, while 680 companies join the import segment.
As of last Saturday, 144,000 overseas purchasers from 215 countries and regions have completed pre-registration, reflecting a surge in global interest. Participation has notably increased by 21.4% from the U.S., 13% from OECD countries, 24.7% from Middle Eastern countries, 45.9% from Belt and Road Initiative nations, and 15.5% from Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership members.
Moreover, the event sees a rise in commitment from leading enterprises and institutions, with 288 confirming their presence—a 21.5% increase from the previous session. This growth underscores the vitality of China's foreign trade and its pivotal role in the global market.
