China Condemns U.S. Trade Barriers as Primary Concern

China has strongly opposed a recent U.S. report that listed it as a \"country of primary concern\" regarding foreign trade barriers. According to a spokesperson for the Chinese Commerce Ministry, the U.S. National Trade Estimate Report on Foreign Trade Barriers, released on March 29, made arbitrary accusations against China without providing evidence of violations of World Trade Organization (WTO) rules.

The spokesperson emphasized that since joining the WTO, China has been a steadfast supporter of the multilateral trading system, expanding its openness, and improving its market and legal systems, actions that have been highly recognized by the international community.

In contrast, the spokesperson criticized the U.S. for adhering to an \"America first\" policy, imposing unilateral tariffs, pursuing discriminatory industrial policies, and abusively implementing export controls and investment protection measures under the guise of \"national security.\" Additionally, the U.S. has restricted foreign companies from participating in government procurement, thereby erecting numerous trade barriers and impeding fair competition.

China urged the U.S. to stop making \"false accusations,\" abide by WTO rules, and uphold a fair and equitable international trade order.
