China's major industrial firms saw their profits increase by 10.2% in the first two months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
Industrial firms with annual main business revenue of at least 20 million yuan ($2.82 million) reported combined profits reaching 914.06 billion yuan during this period. Additionally, these firms experienced a 4.5% revenue growth in the first two months, totaling 19.44 trillion yuan.
Yu Weining, a statistician from the NBS, noted that the profits of China's major industrial enterprises demonstrated relatively rapid growth and a steady start to the year.
