China’s Commerce Minister Highlights WTO’s Multilateral Wins

At the second session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing on Wednesday, Wang Wentao, China's Minister of Commerce, underscored the necessity of confidence and patience in advancing work at the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Wang recently attended the WTO's 13th Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he noted the successful achievement of the \"1+10\" pragmatic outcomes.

\"Most of the members were convinced that this is another major victory for multilateralism,\" Wang stated during a Q&A session with CGTN. \"These outcomes were a boost to the world's confidence in the multilateral trading system.\"

He further highlighted the significance of the Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement (IFD Agreement), describing it as the world's first multilateral investment agreement focused on development, and the first to be led by developing members in shaping investment rules.
