Chinese Mainland’s Economy Soars During Spring Festival Holiday

The Chinese mainland experienced a remarkable economic boost during the Spring Festival holiday, underscoring the resilience and dynamism of the world's second-largest economy.

From February 10 to 17, a surge in both inbound and outbound travel activities injected fresh momentum into consumption. According to the National Immigration Administration, approximately 13.52 million trips were made during this period, averaging 1.69 million daily trips. This marks a significant increase of 2.8 times compared to the same timeframe last year.

Domestic transportation also saw impressive numbers, with national railways recording 99.46 million passenger trips. Meanwhile, civil aviation soared close to 18 million flights, reflecting the robust demand for travel and the effectiveness of travel facilitation measures.

This surge in travel and consumption highlights the strong consumer confidence and the ongoing recovery of the Chinese economy. As businesses and consumers continue to engage actively, the momentum gained during the Spring Festival is expected to have lasting positive effects on the overall economic landscape.
