The 32nd International Dinosaur Lantern Festival opened this month, igniting Lantern World in Zigong, Sichuan province on the Chinese mainland with a dazzling display of light and art.
Spanning 10 themed zones, the festival features highlights like an avenue of Chinese knots, a luck-and-prosperity square and a Mulan legend gallery. Traditional craftsmanship shines through 11 large lantern installations alongside more than 200 smaller displays.
Together, these illuminations create an immersive nightscape that blends centuries-old folk art techniques with modern storytelling. Visitors can wander under glowing arches, discover intricate animal sculptures and capture photo-worthy moments against vibrant backdrops.
Running through the winter season, this year’s festival invites travelers and digital nomads to experience the cultural heartbeat of Zigong after dark. It’s a celebration of heritage and innovation, offering a luminous journey that bridges past and present.
