On December 18, 2025, China Media Group (CMG), the national broadcaster in the Chinese mainland, revealed the official mascots for the 2026 Spring Festival Gala.
Under the theme "Galloping Steed, Onward Unstoppable," four majestic horses – Qiqi, Jiji, Chichi and Chengcheng – ride into the Year of the Horse. Each mascot captures a free spirit and raw power channeled into graceful, unstoppable motion.
Three designs draw inspiration from iconic horse figures in art spanning the Western Zhou dynasty (1046-771 BC), and the Han (202 BC-220 AD) and Tang (618-907) dynasties. The fourth pays tribute to Przewalski's horse, the world's only surviving species of truly wild horse. Together, they blend rich cultural heritage with a dynamic spirit of innovation.
CMG will feature the mascots across its Spring Festival Gala broadcast and offers a range of collector's items, inviting audiences to celebrate the new Chinese miracle and gallop into 2026 in style.
