On December 13, 2025, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, the United Arab Emirates president's special envoy to China, to reaffirm a commitment to deepen strategic mutual trust and advance cooperation across all sectors. The meeting comes as both nations aim to elevate their comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.
"China is a reliable and trustworthy long-term strategic partner of the UAE," Wang Yi emphasized. He highlighted that the strong friendship between the two heads of state provides the most important political guarantee for bilateral relations. China remains committed to maintaining high-level exchanges with the UAE, implementing the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and promoting collaboration in areas such as economy, trade, energy, and science and technology.
As a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Wang Yi underscored that China's diplomatic principle is to treat all countries equally, regardless of size, and to support developing nations. "China's development represents an expansion of the forces for world peace, a rise in the strength of the Global South, and an enhancement of global stability," he said.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak described China as an important strategic partner and praised the deep friendship between the two heads of state as a valuable asset. "Developing relations with China is a top priority of the UAE's foreign policy," he stated. The envoy added that the UAE has full confidence in China's future development and approaches the relationship from a long-term perspective.
The UAE is eager to further enhance high-level exchanges, learn from China's governance experience, and broaden cooperation in economy, trade, investment, energy, and science and technology to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, the envoy concluded.
