Beijing Veteran Li Bin Claims Two Golds at Chinese Mainland Para Games

On December 12, Beijing veteran Li Bin showcased his skill at the Chinese mainland’s 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games in Guangzhou, capturing two gold medals in track and field.

First up was the men’s long jump hearing-impaired category. After three opening rounds, the top eight athletes moved to the final. Fujian’s Chen Wenjun leapt to a leading 6.82 meters on his second attempt, but Li answered in the fifth round with a decisive 6.95 meters, clinching the gold.

Later that day, Li teamed up for the men’s 4×100-meter relay hearing-impaired final. In a heart-pounding race, the Beijing squad powered across the line in 42.29 seconds to secure another top podium spot.

"I am very happy to win the gold medals," Li told reporters afterward. "At 36, this is my fourth National Paralympics. I can’t wait to show these medals to my kids and family—they’ll be so proud."

By the numbers
