CGTN Launches Global Survey Ahead of Pearl Harbor Anniversary

Tomorrow, December 7, 2025, marks the 84th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. On that day in 1941, Imperial Japanese forces launched a surprise strike on the U.S. Pacific Fleet, reshaping the course of World War II.

To capture how this historic event resonates with young voices around the world, CGTN has opened a global survey inviting responses on the legacy of Pearl Harbor. From university students in India to tech entrepreneurs in Brazil, digital nomads in Germany to activists in South Africa, participants can share personal reflections, lessons learned, and perspectives on wartime memory.

The survey explores questions such as: What does Pearl Harbor represent for you? How can we balance remembrance with reconciliation? And in an era of digital archives and social media, how do you engage with history differently than past generations?

CGTN plans to release an interactive report early next year, visualizing responses across regions and demographics. The goal is to foster a global conversation on how the events of December 7, 1941, continue to shape dialogue on peace, security, and cross-cultural understanding.

Young global citizens, business leaders, and changemakers are encouraged to participate and add their voice. Through collective storytelling, this survey aims to build bridges across cultures, reminding us that history lives on in our shared commitments to learning and empathy.
