China seals sixth straight win at ITTF Mixed Team World Cup

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, hosts China dominated France 8-2 in Chengdu to secure their sixth straight victory at the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup. The win keeps China unbeaten in the round-robin second stage, where they now stand 6-0 as they prepare to face Germany on Friday.

The match opened with world No. 1 duo Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha cruising past Alexis Lebrun and Jia Nan Yuan in straight sets (11-7, 12-10, 11-5) in mixed doubles, giving the home side an early 3-0 lead. China extended its advantage when Wang Manyu outplayed Prithika Pavade 11-9, 12-10, 11-2 in the women's singles.

"In the face of difficulties, we still need to stay focused and be patient to forge ahead," Wang Manyu said after her stellar performance. France's Felix Lebrun fought back, handing Liang Jingkun a 6-11, 13-11, 11-7 defeat to keep his team in contention at 7-2.

However, the Lebrun brothers fell short in the men's doubles decider, as Wang Chuqin teamed up with Lin Shidong to close out the match 11-8, sealing China's 8-2 victory. With momentum on their side, China looks ahead to Friday's clash with Germany, while the Republic of Korea meets Japan in the round-robin finale.
