LandSpace’s Reusable Zhuque-3 Rocket Reaches Orbit

On December 3, 2025, LandSpace’s reusable Zhuque-3 Y1 carrier rocket lifted off from the Dongfeng commercial space innovation pilot zone in the Chinese mainland, completing its planned flight as the second stage smoothly entered the preset orbit.

Designed as a new-generation liquid oxygen–methane launch vehicle, Zhuque-3 targets low-cost, high-capacity and high-frequency missions. The Y1 configuration features a two-stage, single-core design with a 4.5-meter diameter for both stages, a 5.2-meter fairing and an overall height of 66.1 meters.

By embracing reusability, LandSpace aims to slash launch costs and accelerate mission cadence. Recovering and refurbishing the first stage opens doors for rapid turnarounds, meeting growing global demand for satellite deployments in telecom, Earth observation and Internet of Things networks.

The use of liquid oxygen and methane propellants also underscores a push toward cleaner, more efficient launches. This milestone places LandSpace among a new wave of commercial players reshaping the space industry with eco-friendly and budget-friendly solutions.

Looking ahead, Zhuque-3’s reusable architecture could fly multiple missions per year, fueling innovation and connectivity around the world and marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of affordable, high-frequency space access.
