China’s Envoy Strengthens Ties at Comoros President’s Inauguration

In a significant display of diplomatic goodwill, He Baoxiang, the Special Envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, attended the inauguration of Comoros President Azali Assoumani on Sunday. This event marks a pivotal moment in strengthening the already robust relations between China and the Comoros.

He Baoxiang, who also serves as the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with President Azali in Moroni, the capital of the Comoros, on Saturday. During their meeting, He conveyed President Xi's heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Azali, emphasizing China's commitment to deepening bilateral ties.

China has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Comoros in implementing the crucial agreements reached by both leaders. This collaboration focuses on safeguarding core interests, advancing Belt and Road cooperation, and enhancing practical cooperation across various fields. These efforts are envisioned within the frameworks of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, aiming to elevate the traditional friendship between the two nations to new heights.

President Azali expressed his gratitude to President Xi for dispatching a special envoy to attend the inauguration ceremony. He assured that the Comoros highly values China's long-term support for its national development and cherishes the enduring friendship between the two countries. Azali affirmed the Comoros' commitment to the one-China principle and expressed a keen interest in deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with China to further elevate bilateral relations.
