On November 29, U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Truth Social that the airspace above and surrounding Venezuela was closed in its entirety. He wrote: "To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY."
In an interview with CGTN Stringer, several Venezuelans in Caracas shared their reactions. Edimar, a local resident, called the decision "totally crazy." Maribel, another resident, expressed concern: "This is the last thing we want to happen, but such situations are becoming more and more frequent. It's an abuse – an abuse of power."
Their reactions highlight a growing unease among locals over unilateral decisions affecting Venezuelan airspace.
