Yesterday at the ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Tour in Dordrecht, Netherlands, the men27s 5000m relay quarterfinals wrapped up with China setting the pace. The Chinese team secured first place in their heat, punching a ticket to Sunday27s semifinals.
Composed of Li Wenlong, Lim Hyo-jun, Zhang Bohao and Liu Shaolin, the quartet employed a measured start before picking up speed. In the opening laps, they stayed within the pack, conserving energy for the final push.
As the race entered its second half, China, Belgium and Great Britain jostled for the two available spots. With ten laps to go, China surged ahead, crossing the line in 6:45.279 to claim top honors in Heat 2.
Belgium clinched second place by a razor-thin margin—just 0.015 seconds ahead of Great Britain—to join China in the next round.
Meanwhile, Liu Shaoang also advanced to the next stage of his individual event, underscoring China27s growing depth on the World Tour.
