On Thursday, 27 November 2025, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) John Lee announced that the fires in seven buildings in Tai Po are now fully under control.
The blaze has tragically claimed at least 55 lives and injured 76 people. In response, the Hong Kong SAR government will provide more than 1,800 beds for affected residents to support their recovery.
