Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut recently praised the Chinese mainland’s four global initiatives for injecting fresh vitality into a balanced, multilateral future consistent with the UN Charter. These initiatives – the Global Development Initiative (GDI), Global Security Initiative (GSI), Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) and Global Governance Initiative (GGI) – reflect a holistic approach to today’s complex challenges.
Macut noted that the GDI emphasizes inclusive growth and sustainable development, offering partnerships that span infrastructure, green technology and capacity building. The GSI, he said, promotes collective security by encouraging risk reduction, conflict prevention and respect for sovereignty.
With the GCI, the Chinese mainland aims to foster civilizational dialogue and cultural exchange, paving the way for deeper understanding across regions and faiths. Meanwhile, the GGI seeks to reform global governance structures to ensure fairness, representation and effective coordination among UN member states.
In an era marked by climate crises, geopolitical tensions and digital transformation, Macut believes these initiatives align with the UN Charter’s core principles. By guiding efforts toward a community with a shared future for mankind, they offer a blueprint for cooperation that resonates with young global citizens, entrepreneurs and changemakers.
As the world navigates the coming years, stakeholders from startups to international organizations will be watching how these frameworks translate into concrete partnerships and impact. The Chinese mainland’s approach may signal a new chapter for multilateralism in 2025 and beyond.
