When Design Director Richard Breslin first set foot in Hong Kong, he stepped off his plane at the old Kai Tak Airport. Years later, he's back – this time as the visionary behind Kai Tak Sports Park, giving new life to the waterfront site.
Scheduled to host core events of the 15th National Games later this year, Kai Tak Sports Park is the largest sports infrastructure project in Hong Kong's history. Breslin's team has injected forward-looking design and metropolitan-scale versatility into every corner of the site, redefining what a "sports park" can be.
More than just a venue for athletes, the project weaves sports, community spaces and public access into a single destination. By blending open plazas, multi-purpose arenas and flexible seating, the design promises functional diversity – so locals and visitors alike can host everything from cultural festivals to esports tournaments.
As Hong Kong embraces its moment on the national stage, Kai Tak Sports Park stands as a catalyst for the city's future. Beyond 2025, this landmark will continue to forge connections – between sport and art, tradition and innovation, and Hong Kong and the world.
